Meet Dr. Amir Shawn Kohan

Dr. Kohan graduated from UCLA in 2005 with degrees in Political Science and Sociology. After studying at UCLA, Dr. Kohan attended Western University of Health Sciences where he earned his Doctarate in Pharmacology.

In 2012, Dr. Kohan achieved his goal by opening Encino Family Pharmacy. The location of his pharmacy played a major role in the planning; Dr. Kohan knew he wanted to reach out to the community in which he was raised and help those who helped him throughout his life. Dr. Kohan is proud to provide outstanding health care to the families in Encino and surrounding cities.

Dr. Kohan is focused on helping develop a relationship between Doctors and patients. Dr. Kohan ensures prescriptions do not interact with a patient’s current medication profile (including prescription, OTC, and herbal medications), allergies, diet, and existing health conditions. Further, Dr. Kohan ensures patients have a clear understanding of their prescription by taking on an educational approach. Dr. Kohan encourages patients to keep in contact throughout their course of treatment and validates it with a close relationship with them.
